- Don’t eat breakfast cereals that change the colour of the milk! Such cereals are highly processed and full of refined carbohydrates as well as chemical additives.
- The whiter the bread the sooner you’ll be dead, is good old advice from grandmothers . White flour after all is not much different from sugar. Recent research suggests that people who eat lots of whole grains tend to be healthier and live longer!
- Don’t take the supplements! If you are healthy and exercise and eat proper food you don’t need the supplements. It is only as we age and are sick or weak, that we need these extra pills.
Then there are some interesting useful little home remedies from a book called Chinese System of Food Cures which have to be tried out. Henry C. Lu in this book tells us that tea leaves and ginger relieve chronic gastroenteritis while chewing fresh cherries will relieve laryngitis. Chew 8 to 12 fresh cherries slowly like chewing gum, twice a day, to relieve laryngitis at its early stage. Celery juice with honey can lower cholesterol level!
Eat 1 to 2 very soft bananas twice a day before bedtime and first thing in the morning on an empty stomach to relieve constipation.
