Rose Platter: Make yourself a Carpetbag to save the planet!
Carpet bags are so easy to make from rug remnants and a good way of saving the planet!
The simplest version is made from a large rectangle of carpet folded in half, right side out. Get a piece of 2-inch canvas webbing twice as tall as the bag plus about 3 feet. Fold the webbing over the open sides, pin in place, and stitch, leaving the slack as a shoulder strap. For a roomier bag, try adding pleats at the base of the bag, or perhaps side panels of carpet!
Then you can have fun by adding any pretty attachments you feel like, from your personal treasure chest of remnants! Jus think how much you can stuff inside it – books, groceries, camera, whatever!
