Rose Platter: do not buy Palm Oil!

Large scale palm oil production is destroying forest and peatland habitats in Malaysia and Indonesia. Campaigning organisations suggest pressing supermarkets and others to sell only sustainably produced oil.

Don’t buy Soya. Huge tracts of land are now under soya cultivation which is a source of cheap protein used for processed foods and animal feed. Much soya is GM. Supermarkets are working with Greenpeace to call for an end to soya taking over rainforest areas, and are also trying to keep out GM products.
