Rose Platter: Slim women eat lots of fruit!
I am nibbling through my current book which is keeping me far away from Netflix and even You Tube which is tempting me with some horrendous true stories about the Nazis and their frightening lives!
French Women Don’t Get Fat by Mireille Guiliano tells us that growing up French means eating lots of fruits. This chapter is truly fattening! You want to immediately start eating cherries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and many other fruits.
The writer tells us how to eat our favourite fruits and desserts with simple, wonderful ways that will keep us slim and yet pamper our sweet tooth! One good tip to follow is to remember to eat prunes! The writer reminds us that prunes are packed with vitamins and of course high in fibre, a mild laxative loaded with potassium, calcium and magnesium! She says “French women consider prunes the perfect detox food; they purify the body and help maintain a good balance in trace elements, so children should be taught to like them.”
I have somehow never taken to prunes but am now going to try them out. But before that I am going to follow the happier advice: have a lemon daily. I love lemon in any form, lemon juice, lemon cake, lemon biscuits, lemon anything! So that should be easy to begin with….lemon juice without sugar!
