Avoid baby wipes: use damp flannel

Baby whites can contain parabens and propylene glycol – a common ingredient in anti-freeze. Instead use a damp flannel which will work just as well and be safer.

Once opened, wet wipes are a breeding ground for bacteria. Soap and water are better. Carry a face cloth in a plastic bag for a quick wipe when with babies or toddlers.

Avoid disposable nappies made of bleached paper that emits a slow, steady dose of cancer-causing dioxins. The nappies also have a ‘chemical sponge’ that emits hormone-disrupting chemicals.
