Organic gardeners do not harass their roses by spraying chemicals on them. When a pest called the rose chafer attacks their roses, they handpick it!

They also find that the use of extremely hot water also helps to get rid of this insect. Hot water from the spigot, if it is as high as 125 degrees, may be enough to kill the beetles. A solid jet is better than a fine spray.

Some gardeners go to the extent of covering their rose plants with cheesecloth!


Some rose growers have also found that covering their roses with mosquito netting has kept them safe from pests!
